In Florida it is HOT 10 months out of the year and that means your A/C runs a lot! Don't neglect your system because it will leave you sweating at the worst time. Here are some tips to keep your system running smoothly year round. 1.Have a professional check your system periodically.
2. Oil the blower motor and fan on both the condensing and the evaporation units annually.
3. Keep the condensing-unit pan free of bugs, leaves and dirt.
4. Check the tension on the condensing and evaporation unit blower fan belts each spring.
5. Inspect the blower ducts and joints for leaks and insulation slippage annually.
6. Clean or replace air filters frequently. THIS IS A MUST!
7. Keep the blower motor fan blade free of mold and mildew.
8. Set your a/c fan speed on high except when it’s humid.
9. Use a whole-house attic fan. Ceiling fans also help keep the air moving so it's not so stagnant.
10. Set your thermostat as high as comfortably possible in the summer. Try a smart thermostat to get optimal performance.
11. Don't place electronic equipment near your air-conditioning thermostat.
